About this lesson
By the end of these six lessons your child can read, write, compare, order and round any number from ten up to a billion, in digits or in words, and say straight away what every digit is worth. Place value is the foundation every later topic sits on, and a child who guesses at it in Year 3 is still guessing at it in Year 7.

26 hands-on tools a printed worksheet cannot give you. A clickable 100 square with built-in puzzles, so you can hide a number and ask your child what is underneath. Counter tables where ten counters in one column visibly swap for a single counter of the next, running out as far as the millions. Slavonic arrow cards that overlap, so your child sees why the zeros are hidden instead of writing 300 40 2. Odometers that roll 9,900,000 over into ten million one wheel at a time. Gattegno charts, digit card builders, and a number line that shows why 47 is nearer to 50 before any rounding rule is mentioned.

How does the marking work?
There's no typing answers into a box. Your child works it out on paper, then clicks to reveal the correct answer and checks their own work. Full working is shown too, not just the final answer, so mistakes are easy to spot.
