Inside a lesson
Every lesson uses the same four screens, so after the first one your child knows what to do. These are real screens from the course.
Your child starts by trying the idea out. In this perimeter lesson they press Walk next side and watch the running total add up one side at a time, until it reaches 40 cm.
A worked example appears one line at a time. Here your child watches the nth term rule get built from the 2 times table before anyone asks them to find one.
Your child tries two similar questions on paper, then clicks to see whether they got them right. Wrong answers show up straight after the example, while the method is still on the screen above.

Ten questions a unit, labelled easy, medium and hard, with a mixed challenge at the end of the lesson. Answers stay hidden until your child clicks, so they commit to an answer first, and on many lessons New questions deals a fresh set.
The lessons open in a web browser. Use a laptop or desktop computer, because the lessons are built for a full size screen and a phone is too small to work from.

Short sessions most days work better than one long session at the weekend. Aim for twenty minutes, five or six days a week, so your child sees each method again before they forget it.
On the days without a new lesson, give your child ten minutes of mental arithmetic and one question from last week's lessons with the book closed. Save timed papers until the topics are taught.

Questions about the course
Can my child work through the course on their own?
Yes, once they know how the four lesson screens work. Each lesson shows the method before it asks a question. Check their book once a week, because the course shows the answers and leaves the marking to your child.
Which 11+ exams does the course cover?
It teaches the maths in GL Assessment and CEM grammar school tests, consortium tests such as CSSE, and independent school entrance papers. Each of these writes its own paper, so the course teaches all the topics they draw on. For real papers from your target school, use our free 11+ past paper library.
Is the course suitable for Year 4?
Yes. Lesson 1 starts with reading and writing numbers to 100, so a Year 4 child can start at the beginning. Starting in Year 4 also leaves time to repeat any topic that does not stick the first time.
What happens after I pay?
You get an instant download with the link to the course, and we email you the same link. The lessons open in a web browser, with nothing to install or print. The link is yours to keep, and lessons we add later are included.
Can I buy one topic area instead?
Yes. Each of the 16 topic areas is sold as its own bundle from £7.99, and single lessons are £5.99. If your child needs most of the areas, the course is cheaper, at £200 against £479.20 for all 80 lessons bought one at a time.
Can the course replace an 11+ tutor?
For an organised child with a parent who checks in each week, it can. If your child needs someone to find the problem and push them every week, one to one 11+ maths tuition will suit them better. Some families use both.
