About this lesson

By the end of these two lessons your child can move between fractions, decimals and percentages in any direction, put a mixed list in order, and handle the multi step questions that give the amounts in three different forms. There are six routes between the three forms and an exam question can ask for any of them, often inside a longer question about money, data or ratio.

Topics covered:

  • Lesson 1, Decimals and Percentages. Decimals to percentages, percentages to decimals, decimals to fractions, percentages to fractions, and the key facts worth knowing by heart
  • Lesson 2, Fractions and Ordering. Fractions to decimals, dividing to convert with recurring decimals and rounding, fractions to percentages, comparing and ordering mixed lists, and multi step problem solving

Your child works through each lesson on any screen. They play with the tool at the start of a unit, click to reveal each line of a worked example, set the practice questions out on paper, then click to check their own answer.

How it's structured:

  • Each of the 10 units opens with two worked examples your child clicks through one line at a time, then practice questions graded from easy up to the hardest thing that unit asks for
  • 180 questions in total across the 2 lessons, every one with a click to reveal answer and a reveal all option, and every question bank has a New Questions button that deals a fresh set whenever you want more
  • Three 20 question challenges close the pair, with the questions deliberately unlabelled so your child has to work out what is being asked before they start

Six hands on tools a printed worksheet cannot give you. A method map that gains one route at a time and reappears before every unit, so your child always knows which conversion they are doing. A key facts matching challenge that hides the table and deals the cards back shuffled. A hundred square that names whatever you shade as a fraction, a decimal and a percentage at once. A zero to one number line your child drags values onto, with three levels, the hardest dealing five values and running past one. A method matching challenge that puts all six routes on the table and asks which method belongs to which. Short division built one column per click, so the recurring decimal appears the way your child would write it.

Use this if:

  • Your child is in Year 4 to Year 11 and conversions still need working out rather than recalling
  • You are preparing for the 11+ or GCSE Foundation, where ordering mixed lists and converting inside a longer question are standard
  • Your child can convert one way but gets stuck going back the other way
  • You want a resource your child can check their own work with, not one more thing on your to do list

What parents say

I have gone through the initial lessons on fractions and they have been helpful. Using bar models and the illustrations have helped my third graders understand better.
Azka Wasim
My son has been having 11+ Maths tuition with Aadam and the improvement in his confidence and ability has been noticeable. Aadam breaks down challenging topics in a way that’s easy to understand and ensures concepts are fully grasped before moving on. The sessions are focused and well planned.
F. Khushi · January 2026
Aadam, the tutor has a lovely mannerism and has made my daughter feel at ease. He explains the question in a way that she understands and is patient with her. She has already seen the results at school from his help and has gone up two GCSE grades in a short period of time.

FAQs

How do I access the lesson?

You'll get an email with your lesson link as soon as payment goes through. Click it to open the lesson in any browser, no login and no app to install.

How does the marking work?

There's no typing answers into a box. Your child works it out on paper, then clicks to reveal the correct answer and checks their own work. Full working is shown too, not just the final answer, so mistakes are easy to spot.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

It works best on a tablet or laptop, where there's more room to read the examples and questions. It'll open on a phone too, but the text and diagrams can feel quite small on a smaller screen.

Can I use the lesson more than once?

Yes. There's no limit on how many times you open the link, so it's there for revision right up to the exam.

What if I lose the link or don't get the email?

Email info@shlc-tutor.co.uk and we'll resend it straight away.
