Getting into Bradford Grammar
Bradford Grammar is independent and sets its own entrance assessment at 11+. Entry is competitive and the bursary and assisted places attract a wider field again, which pushes the effective standard up.
The pattern I see most often with Bradford applicants is a child who is genuinely strong at maths and still underperforms on the day. Almost always it comes down to two things. They read the question at the speed they read a story, and they have never practised at the pace the paper demands.
So preparation splits roughly in half. One half is content, filling the gaps between what a primary curriculum covers and what an entrance paper assumes. The other half is exam behaviour, which is duller to teach and usually where the marks are.
If the answer turns out to be that your child is not ready, I will say that. It is a far more useful thing to hear in Year 4, when there is still time to do something about it, than in February of the year they sit the paper.
Schools around Bradford
Bradford Grammar School takes most of the entrance preparation work locally. It is independent, sets its own paper, and assesses again at later entry points.
Beyond that the work is GCSE Maths, English and Science across Bradford's state secondaries, plus Maths resit support for students who missed a grade 4 first time round.
Heckmondwike Grammar, the nearest selective state grammar, is a common second application for Bradford families. Preparing for both at once is normal and the overlap is large, though the papers are not identical.

Groundwork started in Year 9 or Year 10 produces those numbers far more often than a panic started in Year 11. Nothing here is a promise attached to a booking.

How the online sessions run

Usually pace and question reading rather than knowledge. It is the most common pattern in Bradford applicants and it responds quickly to the right practice, which is timed and marked rather than untimed and self checked.
Do you help with the GCSE side once they are in?
That is a large part of the work. A selective school moves fast, and a child who was comfortably top of the class at primary can find themselves mid set and losing confidence within a term.
