    A bike is bought for £80 and sold for £100. What is the percentage profit?

    1. Find the difference:£100 − £80 = £20 profit
    2. Divide by what you paid:20 ÷ 80 = 0.25
    3. Multiply by 100:0.25 × 100 = 25%

    Answer: £20 profit, which is 25%
