    Worked Example

    A season ticket goes up from £80 to £100. What is the percentage increase?

    1. Find the change:100 − 80 = 20
    2. Divide the change by the original value:20 ÷ 80 = 0.25
    3. Multiply by 100:0.25 × 100 = 25, so it is a 25% increase

    Answer: 25% increase
