How to play Number Splodges

Put a number in every empty square. Squares side by side with the same number make a patch, and a patch of 3s has exactly 3 squares, a patch of 4s has 4 squares, and so on. A 1 sits on its own, and two patches of the same size can never touch. Tap a square, then tap a number. When a patch has just the right number of squares it turns into a splodge of colour. Every puzzle has exactly one answer, and you can find it by logic alone.

Number Splodges is our own take on a Fillomino-style puzzle, the logic game also called a number regions puzzle. It starts on a 5 by 5 grid and climbs to 8 by 8, and the solved card adds up the area of every patch, so it is great practice for area, counting, times tables and square names like C4. Like puzzles?
