How to play Tally Boats

A fleet of ships is hidden in the sea. The number beside each row and under each column counts the ship squares in that line, and the list under the sea shows every ship to find. Ships are straight lines of squares, and they never touch, not even at corners. Pick Ship or Water, then tap squares to mark them. Every puzzle has exactly one answer, and you can find it by logic alone.

Tally Boats is our own take on Battleships, the logic puzzle also called solitaire battleships or bimaru. It starts with three ships on a 5 by 5 sea and climbs to the full fleet of nine ships on 8 by 8, so it is great practice for counting, adding up and square names like C4. Like puzzles?
