About Waleed
Waleed has spent over a decade teaching Science in UK schools, including several years as Head of Science. He holds a Master's degree in Science and a second Master's in Education, which means he brings both deep subject knowledge and a clear understanding of how students actually learn.
Since moving into private tuition, he has worked one-to-one with students from independent, grammar and selective state schools, many of whom are already capable but need sharper exam technique, stronger conceptual grounding, or simply a teacher who will genuinely challenge them.
He is direct about where a student stands, clear about what needs to change, and consistent with feedback to parents throughout.
The majority of Waleed's long-term GCSE students move from Grade 6 or 7 to Grade 9 within around 18 months. That progression comes from combining strong subject knowledge with targeted exam preparation and the kind of consistent, personalised teaching that classroom lessons rarely allow.
What to expect
All sessions are one-to-one and online. The first session establishes exactly where your child is across the three sciences, which topics are secure and which are not.
From there, each lesson has a clear focus. Waleed breaks down complex concepts into precise, accessible explanations so students develop genuine understanding rather than surface-level recall. Sessions combine targeted questioning, exam-focused practice and real-world scientific context to build the kind of independent thinking that examiners reward.
After each lesson, parents receive a straightforward update: what was covered, what landed, what still needs work, and what comes next.
