How to play Number Masks
Each puzzle is a column sum where some digits hide behind letters. Each letter stands for one digit, different letters are different digits, and a number never starts with 0. Start in the 1s column, keep track of what is carried, and find the digits that make the sum true. Every puzzle has exactly one answer.
Number Masks is our own take on the cryptarithm, also called an alphametic or letter sums puzzle. It starts with one column and climbs to three-digit sums and real word sums like CAT + EAT = TREE, so it is great practice for column addition, carrying and place value. Like puzzles?
