Why these topics? Simultaneous equations and quadratics both appear on almost every Higher paper. Neither came up on Paper 1 this series. Students who can solve these confidently pick up marks across multiple question types, including the longer 4 and 5 mark problems.

These are two of the most mark-heavy algebra topics on the Higher paper. This session covers both methods properly, not just the basics. Your child will leave knowing how to handle simultaneous equations algebraically and graphically, and how to factorise and solve quadratics including the harder cases.

My child already knows basic quadratics. Is this still worth it?
Yes. The session goes beyond basic factorisation into the harder cases, completing the square, and using the formula under exam conditions — the parts students most often drop marks on.
Can they join other sessions too?
